Scale modeling has long been a solitary pursuit. For decades, builders across the Mississippi Valley have spent countless quiet hours at their workbenches cutting plastic sprues, soldering brass wire, laying down perfect coats of paint, and meticulously weathering historical miniatures. But every great masterpiece deserves to be shared, and every craftsman benefits from a community of peers. We are thrilled to announce that solitary bench time is getting a massive upgrade with the official launch of our new organization. We are introducing the Winona Modelers Guild, a premier, multi-genre association dedicated to bringing together scale modelers, remote-control enthusiasts, and miniature artists throughout the Winona, Minnesota area.
Where Mastery Meets the Workbench
The core philosophy behind the Winona Modelers Guild is absolute inclusivity across all modeling disciplines. Whether your specific passion lies in the precise historical accuracy of model railroading, the complex technical challenges of scratch-built RC aviation, the flawless glossy finishes of scale automotive builds, or the artistic microscopic detail of tabletop gaming miniatures, there is a dedicated seat at the bench for you. We believe that craftsmanship is a universal language, and by bridging the gap between different genres, we can all learn new techniques to elevate our collective craft.
A Formal Framework for Local Builders

To give our members the best possible experience, the Guild operates on a structured, alternating monthly schedule designed to balance presentation with active, social crafting:
- Show & Tell Nights: Members bring in completed masterpieces or active works-in-progress. This is a formal gallery space to share historical research, discuss technical breakthroughs, and receive constructive feedback.
- Guild Workshop Nights: Pack up your portable cutting mats, favorite hand tools, and current kits. These evenings transform solitary hobby time into a collaborative, vibrant workshop where we share tips over the table.
- Masterclasses & Clinics: Learn advanced techniques directly from regional veterans. Our scheduled clinics cover everything from airbrushing fundamentals and advanced oil-weathering to complex analog-to-DCC model rail conversions.
Join Our Next Meeting
We are actively welcoming new members of all skill levels, from master builders with decades of experience to beginners opening their very first plastic kit. Our community is built on mutual respect, mentorship, and a shared passion for creating history and engineering in miniature.
